Indian® Roadmaster® Driver Seat, Passenger Seat and Driver Backrest

- Product Code: 3R-RM911
Available Options
The stock seat on your Roadmaster® is a 1-piece driver/passenger system. Ultimate Roadmaster® seats were designed as 2-piece systems. This allows the Indian® Quick Detach Roadmaster® Trunk and the Ultimate passenger seat to be removed to set your Roadmaster® up as a solo bike.
Our Indian® Roadmaster® Reduced Reach seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Reduced Reach seat will sit you one inch closer to the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide.
If in your riding position on the stock seat your reach to the handlebars leaves you with no bend in your elbows then you need our Reduced Reach seat. This position will give you a much more comfortable ride and more control of your motorcycle.
Our Indian® Roadmaster® Midrider seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Midrider seat will sit you at the same distance to the handlebars as the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide. Our Midrider seat will suit you if your reach in the riding position on your stock seat gives you some bend in your elbows.
Our Indian® Roadmaster® Tall Boy seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Tall Boy seat will sit you one inch further back from the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seat height. The driver section of our seat is 16 inches wide. If you are tall or too close to the handlebars in your riding position on the stock seat then our Tallboy seat will suit you.
Starting in 2020 - the Roadmaster Dark Horse came from the factory with a narrow 1 piece seat.
Do to this change in seat design by Indian®, the following explains how our seats compare to the position of the stock 1 piece seat:
- Our Reduced Reach seat will sit sit the same height as stock and 1 1/2” closer than stock.
- Our Midrider seat will sit the same height as stock and 1/2” closer than stock.
- Our Tall Boy seat will sit the same height as stock and 1/2” farther back than stock.
Ultimate Passenger Seat
The Ultimate Roadmaster® passenger seat is 16.5 inches wide with comfort to spare. Our Roadmaster® passenger seat was designed to fit with the Indian® Quick Detach Trunk, however it is too wide to be used with the Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar. Since the Ultimate Roadmaster® seat was designed as a 2-piece system, we also offer an optional matching passenger seat which is narrower and longer that can be used in combination with the Ultimate driver seat and will accommodate the Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar.
For the Roadmaster®, we offer both heated and non-heated seats. Heated seats plug into the factory Indian® accessory plug on the Roadmaster®. There are two separate switches that control front and rear independently
Ultimate Removable Driver Backrest
All Ultimate Indian® Roadmaster® seats have the driver backrest hardware built into them, so you can add the backrest at any time. The driver backrest quickly and easily slides in and out with a built in spring loaded plunger lock that is part of the backrest hardware permanently mounted inside the seat.
- Pad measures 7" high by 10" wide by 1.5" thick.
- Built using the same memory foam as our seats.
- Infinite tilt to match your back angle.
- Backrest folds down forward for easily mounting and dismounting your bike.
- Adjustment forward and back is more than 2 inches.
- Adjusts with a thumb screw while you're riding.
- No need to remove the seat or use a wrench.
- Includes zipper storage pouch that velcros to the back of the backrest.
Detachable storage pouch measures 9"W x 6"H and is protected by the driver backrest built in rain flap.
Note: If you have the Indian® Concert Audio Kit (Part# 2879816) installed, the amp must be relocated from the factory suggested mounting location.
Note: Will not fit with California Side Car Trike Kit.
Leather Versus Vinyl and Rain Covers
Leather seating in our homes or vehicles works well for some users however leather seats do not weather well left out in the sun and rain.
In my opinion, there are no advantages with a leather seat on a motorcycle.
Most people cannot visually tell the difference between our premium marine grade Vinyl and Leather unless they are side by side and then it needs to be pointed out which is which.
Neither Leather or Vinyl breathes except through the stitching.
Neither seats, Vinyl or Leather are waterproof. A Vinyl seat will let water in through the stitching and Leather will do the same and also soak through the hide if it gets really wet.
Durability is similar but our premium Vinyl will hold its shape and new look longer than Leather.
A rain cover should be used to prevent water from seeping through the stitches into the comfort foam.
We recommend you cover your seats with our waterproof ride on rain covers when your bike is sitting or riding in the rain.
Enjoy the ride again,
Des
