These are 2-piece systems. The driver seat can be used solo or in combination with the Ultimate passenger seat for 2-up riding.
Our Indian® Chief® Reduced Reach seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Reduced Reach seat will sit you one inch closer to the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide.
If in your riding position on the stock seat your reach to the handlebars leaves you with no bend in your elbows then you need our Reduced Reach seat. This position will give you a much more comfortable ride and more control of your motorcycle.
Our Indian® Chief® Midrider seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Midrider seat will sit you at the same distance to the handlebars as the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide. Our Midrider seat will suit you if your reach in the riding position on your stock seat gives you some bend in your elbows.
Our Indian® Chief® Tall Boy seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Tall Boy seat will sit you one inch further back from the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seat height. The driver section of our seat is 16 inches wide. If you are tall or too close to the handlebars in your riding position on the stock seat then our Tallboy seat will suit you.
The Ultimate Indian® Chief® passenger seat is 12 inches wide with comfort to spare. Our Chief® passenger seat was designed to fit with the Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar, however it is too long to be used with the Indian® Quick Detach Trunk. Since the Ultimate Chief® seat was designed as a 2-piece system, we offer an optional matching passenger seat which is shorter and wider that can be used in combination with the Ultimate driver seat and will accomodate the Indian® Quick Detach Trunk.
The stock Indian® passenger seat will not work with the Ultimate driver seat. The stock Indian® driver seat will not work with the Ultimate passenger seat
Note: If you use an Ultimate Roadmaster passenger seat with an Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar, it will damage the seat and WILL NOT be returnable.
For the Chief®, we offer both heated and non-heated seats. Heated seats plug into the factory Indian® accessory plug on the Chief®. Ultimate heated seats for the Chief® are activated by remote control. There are two remotes included in your heated seat package. Both will run front and rear seats.
The receiver box for the remote controls is built into the passenger seat. Therefore, removing the passenger seat to run solo disables the heating element in the front seat.
If at first, you only want to purchase a solo seat or solo seat with driver backrest and you plan on purchasing a heated passenger seat at a later date - you must select 'Yes' under 'Prep Your Chief Solo Seat for Heat?'. The heat option can not be added to a seat after it's been manufactured.
All Ultimate Indian® Chief® seats have the driver backrest hardware built into them, so you can add the backrest at any time. The driver backrest quickly and easily slides in and out with a built in spring loaded plunger lock that is part of the backrest hardware permanently mounted inside the seat.
Detachable storage pouch measures 9"W x 6"H and is protected by the driver backrest built in rain flap.
The large Ultimate sissy bar pad is 12" wide and 8" high. We have engineered the pad with the correct back angle and thickness. This gives your passenger more room and comfort, which helps to elminate back fatigue on long rides. The Ultimate sissy bar pad bolts right on to your Indian® sissy bar. We also manufacture sissy bar pads that will fit other aftermarket sissy bars.
Note: If you have the Indian® Concert Audio Kit (Part# 2879816) installed, the amp must be relocated from the factory suggested mounting location.
Note: Will NOT work with Indian® Pinnacle Solo Rider Grab Rail (Black 2880752-266; Chrome 2880752-156)
Leather seating in our homes or vehicles works well for some users however leather seats do not weather well left out in the sun and rain.
In my opinion, there are no advantages with a leather seat on a motorcycle.
Most people cannot visually tell the difference between our premium marine grade Vinyl and Leather unless they are side by side and then it needs to be pointed out which is which.
Neither Leather or Vinyl breathes except through the stitching.
Neither seats, Vinyl or Leather are waterproof. A Vinyl seat will let water in through the stitching and Leather will do the same and also soak through the hide if it gets really wet.
Durability is similar but our premium Vinyl will hold its shape and new look longer than Leather.
A rain cover should be used to prevent water from seeping through the stitches into the comfort foam.
We recommend you cover your seats with our waterproof ride on rain covers when your bike is sitting or riding in the rain.
Enjoy the ride again,
