The stock seat on your Roadmaster® is a 1-piece driver/passenger system. Ultimate Roadmaster® seats were designed as 2-piece systems. This allows the Indian® Quick Detach Roadmaster® Trunk and the Ultimate passenger seat to be removed to set your Roadmaster® up as a solo bike.
Our Indian® Roadmaster® Reduced Reach seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Reduced Reach seat will sit you one inch closer to the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide.
Our Indian® Roadmaster® Tall Boy seat is designed so you sit in the seat, not on the seat. Our Tall Boy seat will sit you one inch further back from the handlebars than the stock O.E.M. seat and retains the stock seating height. The driver section of the seat is 16 inches wide.
The Ultimate Roadmaster® passenger seat is 16.5 inches wide with comfort to spare. Our Roadmaster® passenger seat was designed to fit with the Indian® Quick Detach Trunk, however it is too wide to be used with the Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar. Since the Ultimate Roadmaster® seat was designed as a 2-piece system, we also offer an optional matching passenger seat which is narrower and longer that can be used in combination with the Ultimate driver seat and will accomodate the Indian® Quick Release Sissy Bar.
For the Roadmaster®, we offer both heated and non-heated seats. Heated seats plug into the factory Indian® accessory plug on the Roadmaster®. Ultimate heated seats for the Roadmaster® are activated by remote control. There are two remotes included in your heated seat package. Both will run front and rear seats.
The receiver box for the remote controls is built into the passenger seat. Therefore, removing the passenger seat to run solo disables the heating element in the front seat.
If at first, you only want to purchase a solo seat or solo seat with driver backrest and you plan on purchasing a heated passenger seat at a later date - you must select 'Yes' under 'Prep Your Roadmaster Solo Seat for Heat?'. The heat option can not be added to a seat after it's been manufactured.
All Ultimate Indian® Roadmaster® seats have the driver backrest hardware built into them, so you can add the backrest at any time. The driver backrest quickly and easily slides in and out with a built in spring loaded plunger lock that is part of the backrest hardware permanently mounted inside the seat.
Detachable storage pouch measures 9"W x 6"H and is protected by the driver backrest built in rain flap.
Note: If you have the Indian® Concert Audio Kit (Part# 2879816) installed, the amp must be relocated from the factory suggested mounting location.
Leather seating in our homes or vehicles works well for some users however leather seats do not weather well left out in the sun and rain.
In my opinion, there are no advantages with a leather seat on a motorcycle.
Most people cannot visually tell the difference between our premium marine grade Vinyl and Leather unless they are side by side and then it needs to be pointed out which is which.
Neither Leather or Vinyl breathes except through the stitching.
Neither seats, Vinyl or Leather are waterproof. A Vinyl seat will let water in through the stitching and Leather will do the same and also soak through the hide if it gets really wet.
Durability is similar but our premium Vinyl will hold its shape and new look longer than Leather.
A rain cover should be used to prevent water from seeping through the stitches into the comfort foam.
We recommend you cover your seats with our waterproof ride on rain covers when your bike is sitting or riding in the rain.
Enjoy the ride again,
